Beneficial Microflora can ensure healthy crops. The first really big change which we introduced to professional horticulture, in 1970 – 73, was acid dosage for hard water. The next change of that type was the use of predators to control destructive insects and mites. Since 1999, more and more users of our systems are seeing how the practical application of beneficial microflora can control a wide range of fungal, and an increasing range of bacterial diseases. So far, some 14 families of fungi and bacteria appear to be at least well controlled. One good example, backed by many case histories, of a notoriously susceptible species which appears to become immune to attack is Poinsettias. That this happens with most of our capillary mats is no accident. The same understanding has allowed us to design water collection and storage systems which achieve similar results. We also have empirical evidence, partly linked to our experience with peroxygen and analogous products since 1979, of factors limiting the activity of beneficial microflora. To put it simply, we not only deliver products and systems which happen to work; we also know how to ensure that your crops can avoid trouble.
